Dead Weather Hang You From The Heavens Fuzz

Hi.
I am extremely interested in finding out what in the name of great tone Jack Lawrence used to get that sound. I searched several times and found nothing. I know that he uses an English Muff'n, but I wonder if he used different tubes or maybe even a different pedal altogether.

here is the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scJ8ITsZsl4

all I could find is this:

GEAR
Bass 1967 Epiphone Rivoli with Rotosound Jazz Bass 77 flatwounds (medium gauge)
Rig Ampeg B-4R and Sunn 350B heads, Ampeg 6x10 cabinet
Effects Electro-Harmonix English
Muff’n Overdrive

I think he uses a Big Muff aswell and Rickenbacker 4001 its an amazing tone that can be heard in a lot of songs like Consoler of the lonely, Salute your solution

sounds to me on that recording like its a good ole jack white sound. ala POG with Fuzz. Sounds like a octaver for sure (low octave and direct signal).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-D955tYIfbM doesn't sound as good but it is bad with bass

Yeah, it's an old one. The earliest one had no toggle switch at all...one of the pots was a push/pull (Jeff Ament and Jeff Caxide rock those).

I just had to add...the more I hear Jack Lawrence's playing, the more I like it. That guy can throw down when needed, and always grooves like a muther.

Way underrated player!

+1. Ive only heard the Dead Weather stuff, but I really like what he does. That Fuzz is so perfect for the song too. really makes that song work.
