Deep Impact problem

Sign in to disble this ad
When using my deep impact i have a little problem involving volume in regards to preset 2. When scrolling through the presets with the pedal bypassed and turning it on the volume seems to be normal when i get to preset 2 if a little under. But when i scroll through whilst the pedal is engaged the volume goes way up when engaging preset 2.

help

Also when i plugged in a pedal today that i found out doesn't work (russian big muff modded to have a 9v jack) my diago powerstation went into standby mode (it does this when a pedal is connected to the daisy chain and shouldn't be) and the light on it flickers and all power to my pedals is cut. After this happening a few times of me trying to see if the muff really wasn't working i got the power back on but all my presets on my deep impact were back to the original factory settings. The problem in the OP has been occurring before then to my knowledge. I was just wondering if I should be concerned?

My Deep Impact is having some crazy power supply issues. Could be the same deal happening.

Have you guys had your DI's serviced lately? Electronic equipment, like cars, need to be serviced occasionally (if you want them to last, that is!). Take it to a qualified electronics technician / engineer & explain how precious & rare the pedal is & ask them to give it a once-over. Then it'll probably be good for another 15 years!

I'm scared something is up with my deep imapct. I have found on all settings it does this and is normal volume when turning it on then switching between presets whilst engaged. It's ok if i turn it off then on as long as I don't move presets. I have to turn it on bypass it and turn it on again if i do that for it to be normal volume. It is ok and still works and that I just have to be aware of a few things. Just don't want it to be really wrong. Do you think I have nothing to worry about as long as I can still use it and that?

As an electronics technician i've seen some really random unexpected symptoms of problems. The DI being a digital pedal will have even more weirder symptoms! A lot of the time a good re-solder will fix the problem. Just be sure to take it to someone who is competent with surface-mount components.
