DELAY-ECHO

This has probably been asked...but is anyone out there using delay or echo for your bass;and if so,what do they do for you?(I was wondering if they give more depth to the sound?) I live in an area without a decent music store, so I have to actually order pedals and try them,then send them back if they don't work for me. I thought maybe this way I could get some feedback before going to that expense. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Ambiance, mostly. And, if I play kinda quick with a P bass, it can almost sound like drums in the background.

A year or two ago, I would have thought delay on bass to be rediculous. But, after getting all GAS'd up on these forums, I couldn't live without my SMMH. It's so much more than just a delay pedal, too.

i'm using a discontinued boss rv-3, its a reverb and a delay in one pedal. if you're interested, you can try to search it at ebay. i got mine from ebay about 2 months ago. i think it sounds good.
