Delay with Effect Loop?

Sign in to disble this ad
Is there a delay out there that has an effects loop IN the delay?

Meaning that, each time the delay cycles once, its goes thru the effects loop again?

I don't know of one off hand, but you should be able to do that with a stereo delay. Your bass goes into input A, then output A goes through an effect and into input B, then out to the rest of the board. If they're truly separate you won't get feedback. I think my DD-6 could do this.

The stereo delay trick won't do exactly what the OP is looking for, but can be a cool effect in its own right.

Delays with FX loops:
Blackbox Quicksilver
Keeley-modded Boss DD-3
Diamond Memory Lane
Moog MF-104Z

The Keeley is the least expensive, but even that's over $200. If you are so inclined, modding your own DD-3 to have an FX loop is fairly simple.

The Blackbox Quicksilver seems to be that, and more. It's on my short list of crazy fx boxes, and as a crazy fx, it's up with the craziest.

From the webpage copy...

- ability to use standard 1/4" stereo to two 1/4"
mono insert cable in expression pedal input to insert
an effect or chain of effects into the feedback loop
(can also be used to insert a standard volume pedal
as feedback control)
This appears to reference the jack on the right side of the pedal, which is labeled EXP. I think that choice of label implies less functionality than is really there, so that may be why you missed it before.
