First off, let me start of by saying that I am new to the pedal world. I am trying to piece together a 4-5 pedal board for experimentation. I have little to no clue regarding the differences with most of the stuff I am looking at. I am basing my choices from sound samples and rudimentary research from TB. In regards for what I am looking for....quality is 1st, 2nd is versatilty, and 3rd is cost. FWIW, I am willing to spend no more than $250. You guys are the FX gurus....I could use your help and advice. Here are the pedals I looking at and my thoughts/assumptions from what I have gathered so far; Malekko 616 - From the sound samples I heard, this seems like a really cool unit. I could see myself using the sounds I heard from the sample posted on the Malekko website. I did read about the 1st gen issues. From what I can gather, the playback still has some dirt to it. While researching the 616, I found out about the Subdecay Echobox. Subdecay Echobox - From what I could gather from searching TB and from the sound samples I listened to, it seems that the SDEB can do everything the 616 can do but tracks playback with less distortion....is that correct?? EHX Memory Man w/ Hazarai - I dont know too much about this guy, but the added feature of the 30s looper seems cool. If you take the looper out of the equation, how does this guy compare to the 616 or SubD Echobox? MXR Carbon CopyThis guy seems hit or miss from my research. Maybe some QC issues? I dunno. Also, the sound sample on the MXR website is a guitar track....no bass. The guitar track sounds more like a slappy reverb than a wild crazy delay...that is not what I am looking for. I need more versatility/craziness from a delay. If this pedal is limited, then it's not for me.
Again, please pardon my lack of knowledge regarding these units. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
