I want to get a decent delay pedal and well I hear alot of good things about the boss DD-3, DD-5, DD-6, and DD-7. However I want to know what other manufacturers may offer better bang for the buck. |

Line 6 Echo Park
Ibanez DE-7
Digitech Digidelay
Marshall Echohead
EHX Stereo Memory Man with Hazari (a little more expensive than the others, but a TON of features) |

I would also add the Guyatone MD-3 to the list. Bang for the buck, this "may be" the absolute best sounding delay in it's price range...I just wish it had tap tempo... |

i'm a bit opinionated on this though. i play guitar in my original band and use quite a bit of delay. |

I personally could do with a simple pedal like the Ibanez DE-7.
If you wanna do more insane stuff:
EHX Memory Man
Line6 DL4
Boss DD-20 Giga Delay
.... (many more to choose from, but above three are the obvious ones |

really nice, very dark sounding with excellent, musical feedback
and sweep capabilities. great as a tabletop unit to tweak with your hands, but the pots have plastic shafts so it might not hold up well
to foot abuse(for tweaking). the switch, however, is nice and solid.
great size too (smaller than a boss). |

| | | | Boss Re-20 - hands down. Tempo tap, superb 'vintage' tone, space echo feedback on demand, dark, filthy reverb - what more does one want? Well, apart from an original RE-150, 201, or 301. Personally, I need both the original space echo and its recent digital tribute these days. |

In that case, I don't think you can do better than the Echo Park. At some point I'm going to replace my with an Echolution or an Empress Superdelay, but it really is the most feature packed delay anywhere near it's price range. And it sounds pretty good too. |

| | | | I've had a DL-4, cool but too big, went to eBay. An Echo Park, also a cool pedal, but I never really used it, it's going to eBay when I get off my butt. Tried a Nova Delay and had some glitches with it, so that went back. I now have a DD-7 and I'm very happy, at least for now. I like the delays and the basic looper. Great pedal, easy to use, solid, compact. |

Gold star. |

Actually the only compact delay pedal that hasn't killed me to death is the Echo Park, so that gets my vote. |
