Deluxe memory man users help!:D

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys!
As the big EHX fan I am I just recently got myself a deluxe memory man on a whim thinking i could utilize the chorus and vibrato quite well on the bass, as the EHX pedals IVe tried so far managed to work with both instruments well!
I was never interested in the delay as it didnt sound that great to me to star twith (and still doesnt, obviously not a fan of delay on bass)!
So, the question is:
Even when I turn up the chorus full with the blend knob fully on the effect, it doesnt seem to make much of a difference unless i turn up the delay, which on the other hand is something I would like to not use!So do u have any advice as to how to get a nice chorus sound or how to mod it to work better on bass?

The idea is that the repeats are chorused, so u are going to have to use delay to get the chorus.

I didnt like this pedal either, took it back and bought Boss CE-5 instead. EH seems to work better with a guitar than bass, or blended with other effects such as distortion etc.

I assume this is unlike the stereo memoryman? I love that pedal, but it's a delay, though some settings have some modulation effect. Is the deluxe primarily a delay, or something else?

I love this pedal and have found that chorus and vibrato both work fantastically.

Try this: put the mix at half, have the delay low, chorus/vibrato where you want it and set the feedback pretty high (though don't get into the self-oscillatory range). This more or less how I have it set, but I use more delay and less chorus.
