Devi Ever KP first impression

I just received the Devi Ever AR-KP this afternoon.

This is described as an organic overdrive on the DE site.
To begin with the pedal is dark, there is no low-end loss, in fact it enhances the low end.
While not as dark as the Dark Boost, it has a deep thick sound of it’s own.
There are 2 controls, labeled volume and 'control'. This is the silk-screened wave graphics version in a dark khaki color.

Like all of the Devi Ever pedals the KP is loud. It’s capable of pushing a tube amp into nice overdrive.
Adjusting the 'control' takes you from clean to mild distortion. With the ‘control’ set to max, the distortion is about the same as a Rat with the distortion set half way up, but much thicker and darker.

For those who are put off by many of the other E-13/DE pedals, this one is very quiet with no extra noise.

Btw; Devi says this is the same circuit as the old E-13 2ADD and Karaoke Party.

The enclosure is a bit thin so the jacks don’t line up with any of my other pedals.
Also a battery won’t fit inside and allow the bottom to be screwed on. It has a power jack, and I’m using daisy chains so this isn’t a real problem. I would like to see them made in a slightly thicker enclosure though.

Sounds pretty cool.

I wonder how it would stack up against the DB, and how the two would be similar.

I'll say that the DB is VERRY dark and adds a ton of low end, but it sounds like the KP has an extended gain range. The DB can get mildly crunchy, but nothing over the top.

I have an older DB (one knob), tomorrow I’ll compare them and post.
Today I just ran it by itself to get a feel for it. Tomorrow after work I’ll play around and see how it responds to other pedals and figure out where it’s going in the chain.
