Devi Ever pedals on bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I just have to confess....

I have MAJOR GAS for almost ALL Devi Ever pedals,...

it started off with the aenima,... then went to the website and looked through all the pedals, some that didnt appeal to me,... but the more I look, the more i think I like EVERY pedal just cos theyre all unique yet at the same time they all have this brutal untamed wild characteristic to each of them... listened to a clip of the cherry pop on different settings and far out!!!

all I can say is props to Devi and I am 100% keen on getting the new bass fuzz when it comes out!!!

The only Devi Ever pedal I have right now is a Disaster Fuzz, it is terrible on bass in terms or lows, it has none, but it sounds very cool through a low pass filter and or blended, it just nails the "broken" sound. I love the thing.

In my experience:

OK, TP, GZ, SM, DB, 33, YotR, and Cherry pop are all good on bass.

Not good for low frequencies:

DN (but good for noise/splitting eardrums)

pm me if you have any specific questions about them.

I've got a GZ and I wouldn't consider it 'good' on bass. 'Odd', or 'Distinctive' might cover it's ground better. Certainly not a good low end retention pedal.

personally i love the sound the the GZ, but i run it in the fx loop of an x-blender (and after a whammy IV set to oct up&down) and blend it with my clean signal.

also it's the spectacular GZ version, and the feedback loop with a delay in it is just too fun!

I've mentioned it before, but I think the Bit is one of the meanest sounding fuzzes on bass, period

I've wanted a Bit for, ahem, a bit now- are there any impedence issues when using it with an active bass?

Im pretty sure there's a recording where the guy is using a warwick streamer.

So im guessing no issues.

Also good with bass are the Aenima, KP and Hyperion.

The ND does it’s thing with treble, so isn’t a really good choice unless you’re into making odd, strange sounds.

I can never get much more than sputters, glitches and spurts of garble out of my TBD unless I run something in the loop, then it comes to life.

Btw putting a Univibe in front of a SM does some very interesting things in chaos mode, may be not musical, but interesting.

My son will be bringing his Jag bass up next week so I’ll check out the Bit, etc. with it in active and let you know how it works.

The clips I did in the wiki are with a Carvin B5, which is active. No issues at all
