DHA VT1-EQ Internal Trim Pot

I did a search of all of the possible word combinations in the thread's title, nada.
Looked on the Dave Hall site, read through the manuals, nada.

I opened up my VT1 the other day to tighten up some screws, and I noticed that there was a plastic trim pot in there. The obvious question is, what does it do? It's in a pretty much 12 o'clock position in my pedal. This pedal has so many bells and whistles, I wouldn't be surprised if it was an extra little treat for the adventurous. Another knob to turn, ya know? I, however, don't want to mess with it until I know what it does. Thanks in advance everyone!

Don't be a wuss. Turn it ALL THE WAY UP. Then turn your amp & bass to 11. Also, please video.

I figured that Dave's busy enough without some dumb kid pestering him with stupid questions. That's why I left it up here for someone more knowledgeable than I to respond to at their leisure. If I don't get the answer in a few days, then I'll send him an email. It's no emergency though. And while I do enjoy large explosions, I'm far too poor to do such to my precious DHA....

Maybe it sets the bias for the tube? Or sets the voltage to the heaters. But I dunno. I doubt itīs anything important* and user-serviceable if itīs not mentioned anywhere.

*Well, itīs definitely important, but you know what I mean.

I gotcha. That's why I wanted to ask - if I knew it was a control for (just throwing something out here) comp ratio or something like that, I'd feel more than comfortable messing with it. But if it is indeed something else, I'd rather just not touch it until I know for sure.

I guess I'll send Dave an email tomorrow if I don't get a solid answer, and I'll post his response. Thanks for humoring me fellas!

never to busy to answer questions

it the active Eq level, you can turn it up but may find you get a not so nice distortion at the high end when the eq pots are set high. Can't do any harm.

Dave

As a recommendation with any trimpot exploration, is always good to mark (with permanent marker for example) the original position! Then you can fool around as much as you want, and always come back to the start to compare!

Regards -Doug.
