Diamond BCP-1 or Markbass Compressore?

Sign in to disble this ad
After reading the Ovnilabs compressor tests I am having a hard time deciding between the Diamond and the Markbass. I will use the comp for mainly live work. It will go between my Sadowsky MV5 and my VT Bass deluxe which is fed directly to the board. This setup will be used for a rock cover band (mix of 70s, 90s and new stuff). I don't need a lot of highs - I usually turn the lows up a bit on the Sadowsky preamp and turn the VTC down about a quarter. Almost all fingerstyle, with a little pick work thrown in - no slap. Looking for a little light compression to help even things out a bit. Size and power requirements are not huge drivers for me - mainly concerned with sound quality. The slight mid boost of the Compressore makes me lean towards it somewhat - but looking for some input on which may work better for my situation. Thanks for any help/advice you can offer.
