Tomas Haake is one of those dudes who plays stuff that was once, and likely still is by many, thought impossible.

| | | | I can't remember where I read or saw it but I think he uses a line 6 guitar head (vetta II?). Search Tomas Haake as well. I hope this helps.

Dick didn't join until after the I EP. You can really hear him on the re-recorded version of Nothing - one of my fav metal records of all time.
My guess is that he runs through a POD, just like the guitarists in Meshuggah. |

I still have yet to check out the re-recorded Nothing album, not sure why really. I is my favourite from them, very much looking forward to obZen (even if I already downloaded it, I want to wait until I buy it ).

Perpetual Black Second and Closed Eye Visuals back to back is just fantastic.
Personally I'd never want Dick's tone, but it seems to me that if you take everything "warm" about bass and get rid of it, you'd get close. Will be more specific when I'm not as out of it. |

You haven't been around Talkbass long enough. Quote: |

Everything is re-recorded. Bass, guitars, and vocals are all new takes, and all the drums were programmed using samples taken from Thomas Haake's kit. Some of the songs are slower, and some have been extended. |

The title of the video, 'Tomas Haake and Dick Lovgren Drum and Bass Solo', is somewhat misleading then. (Guess I should have recognized the song anyway, though Nothing is not exactly my favourite Mesh album (that would be DEI)).
Looking forward to obZen | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
