Diesel Dawg or 2001 RBP? Which should I add?

Using a GK BL600 at the moment and would like two channels, one with clean punch (boost at noon or so), and a second with GK grind (much higher boost setting). Also love the sound of the DD. Would you be happier with clean/boosted, or clean or boosted and DD drive? Why?

I'd get the DD. Much more versatile means if you did this.

I love the tones of my RBP, both clean and distorted. In fact, overdriving the clean channel provides a completely different kind of distortion. It would definitely be an improvement on the preamp in the Backline, and further expandable with a larger power amp.

Wonder how it would sound through the RPM? (loving what it does with the BL600 BTW)

Didn't GK used to sell a dedicated power amp?

Nope. This question was asked to one of GK's former employees who used to browse TB (Daniel Elliott).

There were plans to create a poweramp to accompany the 2001RBP, but it ended up being scrapped for some reason. Consequently, some of the features on the RBP are forever useless (HMS, remote power-on triggering, etc.).

Well, the DD doesn't leave wanting for high gain. It doesn't do any description of distortion/OD great, but puts it all together very well - compared to other pedals it's not the most defined, not the punchiest, not the most clear, not the grittiest, not the smoothest, not the deepest, not the highest gain (why on earth would anyone need more) - but somehow it does all of those things better than average. Perfect for the 2-5 songs/night I'll need/use it for.

So I've got DOD250 for barely audible drive, RPM blended into GK signal for my stock tone with moderate gain - think Eddie Jackson levels of drive (not quite his tone....yet), and the DD for high gain. I'm liking it. Wasabi sits in waiting, trying to figure out where to go in the master plan.

The only drawback for me is the output could be a bit hotter.
