the difference between BB pre-amp and the RC bass booster?

Sign in to disble this ad
Both the BB pre-amp and the Bass RC booster has the same 4 control knobs.

and looks like all 4 knobs have the same functions on both pedals. Gain, Volume, Treble and Bass.

So does anyone know what's the difference between the 2?

Both has EQ functions on the 2 Bass and Treble knobs. Both the Gain and volume knobs sound the same thing to me.

Does anyone know what's the difference then? Are the 2 pedals voiced differently?

The BB preamp can grind way more, while the gain of the RC adds a little fatter mids. I found the booster almost useless. Loved the BB though. Sold it because I didn't use it in my band.

EDIT: to clarify. The BB can do what the RC can AND it can add a whole lot of OD/Distortion. The RC is just a clean booster with some EQ.

I agree with the previous post, the BB has way more gain and is more of an overdrive/distortion. However, I love my RC Bass Booster to death.

It is now part of my sound and I never turn it off.
But from what I've heard and read, the BB can do clean to all-the-way-distortion.

Xotic makes great effects BTW
