Difference between Sansamp GT2 and Bass Driver DI

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone, I'm new here and after searching everywhere to try and decide which one is for me, I have finally conceded to asking the pros.

Can someone please tell me the difference between the GT2 and the Bass Driver DI? I know this might be vague, but once you guys get the ball rolling, I can be more specific.

Thanks!

The GT2 is more flexible soundwise. Three switches an four knobs let you get close to anything from super clean Fender Bassman to fuzzed out Mesa/Boogies, passing growling Marshalls on the way.
The BassDriver DI score major points for connectability, two 1/4" jacks and a XLR out for use with a bass rigg, FOH, mixing console, computer or anything else you might find useful. It can be phantom powered, it's got a ground lift and a blend knob that lets you decide how much clean sound you want to add to the mix etc.

In my opinon, the BDDI is the best option for live use. All you need in a small black box. The GT2 is more like a OD-pedal or preamp for home recording.

The GT2 is nice enough but there are a lot of settings that didn't strike my fancy with the bass. Or should I say, there were only a couple settings that did strike my fancy for bass.

So the BDDI is great in other words? Go for that?

Go for the BDDI. It also happens to double as a nice clean DI for Acoustic guitar, when set right.
