Differences between Boss Chorus Ensemble and Super Chorus???

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey,

Could someone please explain the differences between these two pedals? From what I understand, the Chorus Ensemble covers lots of frequency ranges, whilst the Super Chorus mainly covers the highs? Is that the only difference? I can get the Super Chorus for $75 used, or the Ensemble for $125 (AUD). I'm leaning towards the Super Chorus because it is cheaper, but I am perpared to pay a little extra if it would be the wise thing to do.

Which one would you recommend, and why?
Which one is better for bass, or are they both good?

Thanks in advance,
Josh

They are similar sounding. The main difference is that the CH-1 has a simple "tone" knob, while the CE-5 has a stacked tone filter knob, one for high cut and one for low cut. It's more flexible and IMO better for bass, though I'm still on the fence about which one is better for guitar.

But the CE-5 should be cheaper. Check the price again. MF has it $10 cheaper.

Everything is cheap in the US. I'm in Australia where everything costs a bomb. Russian Big Muff's over here cost $150! It's absurd. Anywho, I'm happy to pay around $80 - $90 bucks for a BOSS pedal, especially seeing as they are $130+ new.

sorry, i meant cheaper compared to the CH-1, but i guess you're comparing a new price to a used price.
