Different Brands of Vocoders

Alright guys, use your musical expertise to help me find some cheap vocoders! right now I don't really care about sound quality, I just want to mess with it to see if I can use it. I was trying to buy a Digitech S100 from ebay, which is a multi-unit that also has vocoder in it, but I lost all three of the auctions I tried to win so far... There is another one going that ends in a few days... who knows if I'll get it though...

So, anyone know of something I can get for under $100?

I got the Digitech VM-5 for next to nothing, it's got a decent vocoder in it as well as the usual harmony stuff, midi in and sound pretty good in spite of what I paid for it

IIRC a few of the Boss half-rack multi's contained vocoders, and they can go for cheapish sometimes. Also there's the MicroKorg keyboard- not a cheap solution just for the vocoder, but it's a cool synth keyboard too, so there's extra bang per buck, and I see them available used pretty often.

Hmmm, I have some secret talkbass 3rdeye Last night I put some new strings on the bass and was watching tv. Well the bass sounded super bright, so I got out my microkorg. I ran the tv audio out as the voice and hooked up the bass as the carrier of the vocoder. Kind of like a tv talkbox, very fun stuff to knob twiddle with. Anyways ran the tv out through a tubesreamer, and the bass through a big muff, used the microkorg's flanger and delay;and with lots of knob tweekin wasted a good 2 hours. All while getting to listen to tv through the bass
