Different Q-tron+ models

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, 1st post so don't kill me if the question's already been asked, but I searched a couple pages and found nothing. Basically I've been looking to buy a q-tron+ off of ebay and I've run into a few that look somewhat different. I don't know if maybe it's the flash of the camera making some of them look plain white vs. others being metallic, but if not, which is the new of the 2 that I'm seeing? Also, I know there's and even newer model that's supposed to be smaller and lighter than the older models- just wanted to know if that's the only difference. Also, does anyone happen to know the difference in weight and dimensions of the new vs. old models? Thanks for all your help guys.

There are actually several iterations of the Q-tron: regular, +, mini, micro, and micro +. There are no white "original size" Q-trons AFAIK, so it was probably just camera flash.

I don't have the specs handy, but if you search on "EHX dimensions" using the Google Talkbass search, it should turn up a thread we had on that very subject. Also, for discussion comparing the various Q-trons, search on "qtron" without the hyphen, as well as the words "mini" and "micro".

The old original ones are the size of a chrome Q'uran.

Hey guys, thanks for the quick response. I checked the dimensions on the new model, and quite frankly, unless someone could tell me otherwise, the size difference isn't worth the extra money, so I think I'll be going with the older one. Also, after looking closely at several pictures on google images, I discovered that my initial presumption that there was a white tron+ and a metallic one was false. Apparently all the professional pictures taken for it make it seem almost a solid white, where as everyone who took their own pictures of it on ebay had the flash reveal the metallic cover more. Thanks again for all your help.

well the whole size thing depends on how much real estate you have on your pedalboard. for us effect whores, saving space is nice so we can get more pedals in the same space. the qtron+ and the micro qtron+ are the same price new actually, so if I were going to buy new I would get a new one, but I see why you would save some money like that

I actually have an original qtron, but I got it before the new one...
