Different Whammy Calibration question...

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I know there's a Dive Bomb setting on the Whammy IV, but I was wondering if it's possible to "reverse calibrate" the pedal. For example, when the treadle is heel-down, the pitch is shifted up; toe-down the tone is "normal".

Is this possible? Or am I just dreaming? I know this is possible on the BP80 that I used to own.

My understanding of recalibrating the pedal is returning it to the original factory settings. I would think that while it's a multi, it's not a "programmable" multi...as far as I know. Good luck though, maybe someone here knows how.

Hmm... you know, I don't think it's "supposed" to do that, but I'll give it a try later this afternoon and let you know.

Now I just need to remember how to recalibrate it... I never had to.

Start with the treadle in the up position. Hold down the footswitch when you power the Whammy up. The LEDs light up. Then rock the treadle down and back up again.

EDIT: To answer the original question, I guess you could try to calibrate the unit backwards by reversing the above method, but im not sure its going to work. I can't test mine at the moment... Apparantly im at work

Also, from memory, the Divebomb setting doesn't really work very well with a bass. I havn't used it for ages though, so I could be wrong

It works to make **** rumble, more of a sound effect than a bass effect if you catch my drift.

So was anyone successful in pulling this off? Reverse calibration?

Not to be a jerk but couldn't you just turn the housing 180 degrees? Or step on it from the front of your pedalboard.
