digital delay

Do I need a bass specific digi delay? I was pissin around with a friends boss one and it seemed fine. I know that with some effects its important to get bass specific. If so, recommended ones? I'm not brand fussy either, if it costs $20 and works, then its the right one.

I've found a few delays for $40-$50 but $20 is reaching. On *bass-specific*- IME, not so much. I've not bumped into a delay that didn't work because it wasn't intended to be used for bass. Like any type of pedal, I'd suggest you try as many as you can- if you like it, get it.

Any delay should work.

With delay, bass specific is not important. As a matter of fact, I don't think that there actually is a commercially available, bass specific delay of any kind.

It's not 20 bucks, but you can sometimes find the Line 6 DL4 pedals around for $120 or so.

IMO, it's the best and most versatile of the modern delays....and the loop sampler is a blast as well.

cheers,

I've never seen or heard of a bass specific delay so I think you'll be fine.

Inexpensive Delay pedals...
  • Danelectro FAB Echo
  • Danelectro FAB 600ms Delay
  • Behringer DD600
  • Arion DDM1
  • Biyang DL1 (and its repackaged variants)

The cheap pedals are out there if you past the big names.
