Digital readout worthless outside

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been using a Digitech BP50 multiple effects processor the last few weeks in rehearsal with my band. Quite nice on a few tunes, and I have learned to appreciate the built in tuner.

Well, yesterday, we had an outdoor gig and the digital readout was not bright enough to be seen-- even in the shade under the stage tent. Fortunately, our guitar player had an extra tuner.

Any suggestions for another model that has brighter readout?
I don't recall this issue being addressed in any reviews.
Should I start using individual pedals that just have an on/off light?

Don't laugh but i use a Toilet paper tube fitted over the display on a Zoom B2.1u when playing outside, usually held in place by a bit of masking tape.

I'm not laughing, bassbrad, cause it definitely helps.
Unfortunately, the tube covers up the tuner indicator
lights.

I'm glad that such an elegant solution works for your Zoom

Boss GT-10B display and button leds will etch an imprint in the back of your retina, great effects too.
