Digitech Bass Synth Wah Hissing

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently purchased a digitech bass synth wah, and it produces this hissing background noise when its on the classic envelope filter setting. Any ideas why or how i can fix it?

Assuming this is through your amp, not via a DI to a recording console, try lowering the high-end EQ on your amp. Also, your adjustable tweeter, if you have one, might be maxed. Lower it to about 50% or less.

I have the guitar version of the pedal. I guess I just assume that it will be noisy and a bit crude. When I use it, there are lots of other things happening in the music, so the noise is pretty much masked.

I have already tried that, but thanks. The weird thing is the hissing is more prevalent when i turn my bass up, but when i turn the treble up it almost disappears.

I have the same pedal, with the same problem. The pedal sounds good at low volumes but when its time for a show and I crank everything up its gets really hissy and basically not usable. The only fix I do to sort of get around this is just turning down treble on my bass and amp. Kinda takes out some of the sound that I wanted in the first place...

I'll probably be getting a new envelope filter soon.
