Digitech bass synth wah problem

Love the versatility of this pedal but it seems when using it on setting 1, (classic envelope filter setting) the volume gets cut down dramatically while using it on other settings there's really no issue. I'm using an active bass so I have the -14db button pushed in on my bass head, not sure if that might be the problem. Any suggestions?

Well, you don't need to use the active button on your amp, unless you can't keep the input gain in check, (unlikely), BUT, that is AFTER the pedal, so, though it may sound better overall, it won't cure your problem. A boost or o/d in FRONT of the offending pedal, will.

Hmmm.... I've had this pedal for a couple of years and never had an issue with it (bought it used from a Texas dude off E-bay). Don't recall either reading about such a problem on this forum. I'd go towards the defective pedal route, after checking all controlable issues (connexions, knobs and whatever). Really sorry to hear about that, I'm a big BSW fan. It's actually the one filter that gives me the sound I want.
