I am looking at the BP200, is this an effect unit worth purchasing? sound quality? ease of use? gig worthy?

Thanks in advance

Its gotten alot of bad reviews as not being gig worthy and bad presets, but I never have had an issue with it other than the built in tuner which is horrible. Presets are crap but you can dial in a sweet set of tones with it. Def worth the $150 if your looking for an affordable multi unit. A lot of people prefer the Boss me50B, i think thats right but its twice the cost. I think the Boss would be easier to use from what Ive seen, but the digitech is not difficult by any means.

The digitech bp200 is more suitable for beginners(in my opinion). if you're in a market for a portable multi-effects processor, the zoom b2.1u would be a much better choice.

I love mine. I can get a decent sound by choosing the compression and amp simulation parameters carefully; plus it has the "slow gear" effect I need on a couple of tunes (B2.1u does not have this BTW). It's rugged, the display is meaningful and easy to read, the pedal is very smooth to operate. Only negative is you can't run it on batteries in an emergency.

I've never had any problems with the tuner, though it is a bit touchy to get the tuning right in the middle; I think it's overly sensitive for stage use. And I have a ME-50B as well, but can't really say I prefer one over the other. I make my own presets, and each pedal does things the other one can't. YMMV. I'm actually happier with my B1X except it's plastic and somewhat light/fragile (and the pedal travel is way short).

I have the BP-50 which is less versatile. I don't care to much for the Digitech compressor on these pedals, and like the above said, the tuner is blah. Some of the modeling like the Trace Elliot, and SWR, and Ampeg models are decent. The fretless simulator sounds kinda weird and processed, but some of the fretless settings are cool. The chorus effect is neat, and I kinda dig the flanger. It really is all about tweeking them when it comes to digitech though.
