What's the consensus on this pedal? http://www.digitech.com/products/digidelay.htm
Seems to have as much time as I'd need, it has tap tempo, and reverse - the specific features I was looking for
trying to decide whether I should go for one of these or save up for a DD6 etc

I havn't owned that specific pedal but im never hugely impressed by ones that I have. The battery option is always useless for any more than 2 hours use, they sometimes have stupid non descript knobs, very cold digital sounds, slightly wider case, etc..
I have no real issues with any of my Boss pedals. So having said that, if I was to be going shopping today, I would get the Boss
Again, just to confirm, I havn't owned this specific Digitech pedal. First thing I notice with this one, its knobs make sense

Also using a battery with ANY digital delay is probably a losing proposition.
That said I bet the new DD-7 kicks ass but it costs 50% more than the Digitech. |

You mentioned the tap tempo, I have one word for this feature on this pedal: USELESS. You have to hold the pedal down for a couple of seconds to turn on the feature, then hold it down a couple more seconds to turn it off. If memory serves (which it might) it doesn't do into bypass, it only turns the tap tempo off. DO NOT buy this pedal based on the tap tempo.
(...Here is the part where someone comes along and says that the tap tempo works differently. It might, I just remember messing with it for about the 6 seconds it took me to figure out it was worthless.)

I'm just kidding though, I'm a regular in their bass forum.

| | Registered User | | | | | i have one and enjoy it. to me it has more warmth and vibrance then the boss. i do actually enjoy the dd-3 as well though. the dd-3 reminds me of a digital "metallic" delay . i forgot if the dd-3 is cable of letting the delay keep on going after it is disengaged but the digidelay does this. |

| | | | I ask because I can get this one used for roughly $60-70 (not totally sure about the shipping)
A DD6 new should cost at least $130 (cheapest I've seen)

| | | | It's a good delay.
Do you need the "weird" options? The loop and reverse settings?
If not, may I recommend the Ibanez DE-7? They're like 70 new, and I replaced my Digidelay with one. I just think it sounds better.

I mostly use tape delay and mod.delay modes. You can leave delay trails when switching delay off and digidelay is quite nice for oscillation and noise. |

With all the features you get, and the price - It's a winner.
If I was looking for an all-in-one delay, it would be this!
