Digitech Jam Man problem

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I just brought home a Digitech Jam Man. Read the manual, hooked it up, plugged it in... nothing. No sound is transferred between the unit and the amp.

I tested the cables... they all work. When you unplug from the output in the back of the unit while the amp is on, there's the tell-tale plug noise. When I unplug the cable from the instrument while keeping it plugged into the input of the pedal, no noise. Seems like the actual input jack of the pedal is messed up/not hooked up/something.

I'm not a noob; I hooked everything up correctly. It's very easily labeled, and I should have been up and running within five minutes of opening the box. Didn't happen.

Any thoughts? I can't immediately go back to GC to get another one right now, so I figure I might as well ask around, see if other people have gotten around something similar to this with one of these or some other Digitech product.

you have to check how you have it set... the input has a few modes and they work in different ways

I tried the input modes. None of those worked either... though I have to say I didn't plug anything into the XLR or auxiliary inputs... what's the use of a stomp box if the instrument input doesn't work? Sure, I could mess with Bobby McFerrin/The Bobs type of stuff, but that's not why I got it.

I'm going to wait and see if I get a reply to an email I sent off, and if that's not encouraging, I'll just take it back to GC and get one that works.

I'm not even angry about this, just a little annoyed.

Is the instrument level knob at zero?

If it is, you get nothing. Try making sure that the instrument level knob is turned on. I am not trying to be anything but honest, that stopped me cold for a few minutes when I first plugged mine in. It is now working fine.....
Good luck.

I have one and it works just fine. Are you guys sure that your using the correct power supply? It has to run on the one that came with it. Second, like mentioned above, is your instrument level knob (on your jamman, not bass or amp) on enough to make sound? If the green numbers are lit up its a good start.

I have a GNX-1 which needs the AC-out power supply to work - unfortunately I've discovered that the numbers light up using a DC supply, but of course, it doesn't work!
