Digitech Multi Chorus crapped out

Sign in to disble this ad
So I was hooking up a new pedal I got today to my board...a comptortion from Burgermeister....and when I plugged in the power to my brick...the LED on the Multi Chorus blinked three times. I didn't think anything of it at first...but then it would totally cut my sound out...so I did some switching around...and the pedal just doesn't work any more! I am totally bummed cause I really like that chorus...and I just sold my other one. Is there anyway I can bring this thing back to like...or do I need to buy another chorus.

When the LED blinks 3 times, it just means power is getting to the pedal, same with all Digitech pedals. (happens every time I plug my PS in) I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with the pedal dying. No tips on repair though, sorry to hear about the pedal man, I really like that pedal too.

Yes, the blinking LED means it's getting power - like a boot sequence. What kind of power supply are you using? The Digitech's are rather juicy, so it may be getting power and appearing to be turned on, but it may not be getting enough to actually 'work'.

Have you tried it in isolation? On batteries?

It has been known for the processors in the digitechs to fry, so there's a small chance it could be dead.

Sounds like Burgermeister owes you a new chorus!

nah....I don't think the Comptortion messed it up...its before the chorus. I had never noticed the LED's blink before. I will try the pedal isolated to see it if still cuts the signal. However when I took it off the board all of the other pedals worked absolutely fine.

My power source is an Artec Power brick that supplies 9 Vdc and has two spots that go from 6 to 12 v. I have had the chorus for about 2 months now...and its worked fine for me

If you feel that you should buy a new chorus pedal, I would recommend the danelectro chorus pedals. those pedals can give your bass a smooth, retro chorus sound.

The day of a gig, I threw new batteries in mine and it started buzzing, giving me terrible feedback, cut out randomly, and seemed to just die. Quickly ran out, bought a One-Spot and it's never given me trouble since. I call shens on the quality of their power hookups. The circuitboard seems to be fine, the effect works great, I love the sound and the pedal as a whole, but I don't appreciate being locked down to a single method of powering the pedal. Especially because it took 9 weeks for the local shop I bought it from to get it in. I told them if they want my money they can speed up their ordering process. Told them that until that happens, I'll be using their equipment to test out sounds and feels, but I'll be ordering online.

That would be my guess.
