I'm sure everyone's scratching his head on that one, but I wanted to delve into the world of effects without spending a tone of money. It's a digital guitar effects/modeling unit that I bought during my guitar days in 2000. It has all the basics like phase, chorus, flanger, compressor, etc. I set up the basic ones and added a mild overdrive just to see what I get out of it before I decide if I want to get any bass specific effect units.

I've read where guitar effects aren't frequency-matched for bass. I don't know how much I should be concerned about that. I've also read where some bassists use guitar effects and so I figured I'd play with it since it's collecting dust at the moment.

I was a bit confused too. I think Ron was just letting us know he had started fooling around with this unit on bass but hadn't come to any conclusions yet. Ron, be sure to let us know how it sounds.

That's what I get for typing late at night. I was wondering if anyone else has tried it and how successful the attempt was.

Well I tried it for a week and all I can say is it's up for sale. Even in bypass mode, I noticed some of teh dynamics gone from my bass' sound. The chorus, flanger and "rotary" features are adequate, but I'll save up and get a bass-specific stompbox when the time comes.

You won't be the first bassist to want to get rid of an RP series.
