| DigiTech RP250 & Bypass?

I've added a DigiTech RP250 to my arsenal to provide some of my lessor needed effects. It seems much better in design and sound than the older BP200. I'm hoping that DigiTech overhauls the BP series sometime. They have really improved the new RP series.
Anyway the DigiTech manual says, "The RP250 presets can be bypassed via a true analog bypass circuit for a clean, unprocessed guitar
signal." What is true analog bypass? FYI, it only works when the RP250 is plugged in. Wouldn't this suggest that it isn't true bypass? Regardless, it is a really great sounding unit.
