digitech whammy 4 midi control

im kinda confused as to what a midi controller with the wh-4 will do. some places ive read make it sound like a second treadle (why would you need that?), others make it sound like a way to scroll through the settings without having to bend over and do it by hand. which is it? and would the tech 21 midi mouse work for going through the settings?

Well, here's one controller from molten voltage:

You can control all kinds of things with the midi as far as I know.

I think that you can both of those things. You might want a second treadle if for example you want to keep all of your effects in a rack and control them all with a central pedal - you could use something like this...

...and control your whammy using the pedals on here, while all your effects stay safely off the stage. Muse do this.
