Digitech Whammy Shipping Damage and power question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey,

Well i just got a used Digitech Whammy IV from ebay from America (im in Australia) and the item came damaged. The knob has snapped off and i cant screw it back on. I got this with USPS priority mail which cost me $50 and it was only packaged in a cardboard box with a tiny bit of newspaper to "protect" it. So yes as you can assume i am very annoyed as this cost me a lot of money and the broken knob wasnt listed in the item description. So, can i get it refunded? there was no insurance on it but i mean come on, newspaper to protect it?!!
I shouldnt have to pay for the return shipping should i?

anyway rant over and if you could help me in any way that would be great.

another question: i cant fit a DC jack into the Whammy IV. I have a Godlyke Power-All and the green adapters seem to fit but i dont know if they would suit the power needs of this pedal.

Cheers,

Tom

If you paid via PayPal you can get your money back easily. Just file a dispute. Have you contacted the seller?

If it was international priority I believe it has $200 of insurance built in. You might be able to get reimbursed for repairing the damage.

Yeh i paid via paypal.

This is what i messaged the seller :

Dear kkustums,

Hi,

Very disappointed in the state of the pedal. On opening the parcel the knob had broken off and I can't get it screwed back on as it is the plastic that has snapped. It also has more scratches then in the picture, so I assume further damage has occurred during shipping. It was delivered in a cardboard box with newspaper to "protect" it which I feel is insufficient packaging. I would like to return it for a full refund but am not willing to pay for shipping to return it to you. I will consider taking the matter further through Ebay and Paypal dispute systems if I don't get a satisfactory response from you.
