The digitech bass driver is in fact a great distortion pedal if you like fizzy metallic distortions. if you want something that's less heavy but still have plenty of fuzz, the Ibanez pd-7 would be right up your alley.
Yeah. the digitech bass driver has a blend control which will allow you to mix the dry signal with the effected signal. so you won't be able to lose any low-end of your sound. also if you own a tube-emulation pedal like the sansamp bass driver or the hartke bass attack pedal, you can combine these pedals and get a killer sound. I own a digitech bass driver and a hartke bass attack pedal and I was able to get a killer sound combining these pedals. it goes to show that tube-emulation pedals can really enhance any distortion pedal with character and power. if you own a tube-emulation pedal, give this combination a try. you might be surprised by the results.
