Direct Box Suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
I am thinking of buying a DI to help out the soundman. I have a Fender 300T and the Direct going out is HOT. I am looking at going with a Radial JDI, a Radial DI, or a Behringer....not active as I play a J-Bass.

Any suggestions on a reliable DI Box?

I had a SansAMP about 10yrs ago but do not think it would be a good choice, as I thought it changed the effectiveness of my amp's EQ.

I've used the Whirlwind direct boxes in the past with pretty good results. We've got 4 or 5 dual channel D.I.s for my church choir and I've used this guy for bands in the past:

Passive, no-frills boxes, but they get the job done!

If you're just looking for a DI, not anything with preamp functions or EQ, etc......you really should check out a Countryman. That will really help out the soundman, it's considered "the standard" for DI's in many circles.

Radial, Countryman, or BSS. No fooling around.

BTW you mentioned "not active as I play a J bass"... there are reasons for picking an active or passive DI, but I've never heard "J bass" as one of those reasons. What's your thinking there?
