What devi/effector 13 loops have you used? |
Yeah they call it a feedback loop on their site, but it most definitely is not in the way that Devi make them.
I've owned 2 versions of the
TBD...the newest version (well newest version she made before Ooh La La) which has a louder fuzz, the light for the photo eye, knobs that functioned the correct way (older/original
TBD's knobs were reversed).
This was totally an awesome pedal....the fuzz channel was by no means an all the time use thing, but it was fun for it's purpose.
I currently own a super early Beautiful Disaster (before the truly) it has no photo eye...or LEDs actually. Sounds just like I remember my original
TBD sounded but a quieter fuzz circuit.
The Spectacular Aniema seems like it might have a more useful all the time fuzz sound, but I never got around to owning one of those...she actually made a whole bunch of versions of her fuzz boxes with the "spectacular" addition (feedback loop/photo eye) they are no longer available but you might be able to catch a used one every now and then.

Note my opinions on feedback loops are completely subjective, In my experience the Devi made loops are just crazier and more varied....other companies have their charms as well...my tone factor mobius was a very musical sounding feedback loop....you could actually use some of the sounds it made in songs...The Devi's were more akin to destroying the world and making sounds you had no idea were possible out of a pedal (IE most of Bongripper's
Heroin album) really depends on what you are looking for.
Currently I don't even use a feedback loop on my bass board I run 5 Moogerfoogers that can make such weird sounds without one, but you can guarantee that my gu*tarists board would never be without one again.
Personally Devi's pedals just do it for me....might not for you.
