Distortion issue

I am neophyte when it comes to pedals ,which might explain why I can't figure it out.
My sound was distorting out quite bad this morning at service.
My chain:
Bass- switched batteries,no change
boss tuner-EBS Microbass2- EBS octave in/out effects send/return.
Using a One Spot that was plugged to a 4 plug extension cord. None of the boxes have batteries in them.
I don't know what would cause this. Anyone have any thoughts?

Maybe a silly suggestion, but if it has worked well before, have you checked that all settings are what they usually are? I've been known to change various knobs inadvertantly when taking the bass or pedals out of a bag for instance, and not noticing before I start playing ...

Also, what's your amplification, do you go direct into a PA maybe the problem was with the gain setting there.

When at church it is from the DI to the board..next week I'll ask them to check the gain.
