Distortion pedal similar to this sound (video)

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm new to this board, and am interested in a distortion pedal for my bass setup. I like the sound of Jason's distortion in the video below, can anyone recommend me a pedal that sounds similar to it? No, I'm not trying to get the same exact sound like that, but I like the nasty, gritty distortion like this. I was thinking the fulltone bassdriver, anyone else?

Thanks

my thoughts is it is either a odb-3 cranked, or even sounds like a Boss metal zone guitar distorion pedal mt-2 i think as i ve tried this through bass and sounds very close, but also it has alot to do with his clean tone and eq settings

Pretty sure it's an ODB-3
roughly:
Gain at 5 oclock
balance at 4 oclock
lows at 11 oclock
highs at 2-3 oclock (depends on the bass going in)
level at wherever

That pedal's tiny... hard to tell what it is, but it seems too small to be a Big Muff unless it was rehoused.

The other one's clearly Cliff's old Morley, though.

True.

Seems to be some sort of cranked overdrive / guitar-style distortion. It could be a SansAmp Classic because of how it looks from a distance, but it's still pretty hard to tell.

my case is this: it is small, single switch, black case, sounds like a guitar pedal, and yellow writing underneath the switch.

Well i saw a Big Muff, but from what the poster said above me it could well have been a Sansamp of some sorts. On numerous sites, it only states that he uses the Tech 21 Bass Driver, maybe he used both.

Thanks guys.

Well I am huge metallica fan, I know Jason uses a Russian Big Muff, Sansamp BassDriver DI, and a morley power wah. I have a sansamp bass driver DI and a russian big muff, but my big muff has more of a fuzz then a distortion, and the Sansamp is more of a OD.
