Well, apparently the Aguilar Agro is the king of Rackmounted distortion (and the sansamp stuff is also capable of distortion too) i've heard great things about the Agro, but i think its only half a unit. A great guy by the name of Lonniestingray has one in the classifides at the moment that it breaks my heart to turn down.

Aguilar AGRO

Check out the sansamp rack units, generally they're great for tube amp emulation, but i hear they can kick up a hell of a distortion,

the RBI

if you've heard of the sansamp bass-driver, this is bassically the big daddy one

the Sansamp RPM with the drive either at just past noon or full up is the most kick arse rack distortion I've heard and used

i think the RBI is meant to be a bit of both really, i mean it is a Preamp, but its also an amp emulator. the PSA-1 you can even save presets with it.

Geddy Lee uses both a RBI and an RPM

Yeah, one of the Sansamp units, and a good tuner, you're set.

Currently I have the GK 2001rbp preamp and it is two channels..channel b is adjustable distortion....Also have an RBI which gets a real nice crunch...not using it much/might be selling it as I have the second channel on the GK....which is based, I have read, on GK's Diesel Dawg distortion pedal...

see this is the thing, is the only way to get rack distortion with a pre amp based thing?, i like the pre in my pro-6, and its one of the reasons i got it.

anyone know if you can get 2 2u tray? thinking bout maybe just putting a few pedals in my rack unit? all connected so i can just slide it out and hit a pedal be it tuner or whatever, i may be getting a chorus aswell.

id put them in this.

http://www.thomann.de/gb/thon_racksc...bd88d5d09f8bae

im thinking it better than the pedal switcher thing and i only use the wah as an outfront pedal.

im thinking i could bring one lead out the back and go into the wah then to my bass? just slid the draw open to turn on a pedal or tune?

If you want a rackmount that has distortion as well as other effects(such as chorus, reverbs, delays, etc.), the rocktron blue thunder would be a good choice.

Oh...okay. if its a fuzz pedal you're looking for(that has alot of lows to cut through), you might like the electronix messdrive hybrid+ bass fuzz pedal.

that looks nice sounds wicked!

im getting into all these effects now! love the chorus! the mega distortion is just ridiculously good, and i just got a little silly fuzz pedal today, the ehx metal muff, it for guitar but gave this insane fuzz that will be wicked for the odd solo/song intro sound really similar to rob Trujillo solo sound.

but sadly i dnt get the clean bass tone underneath the fuzz, still love it tho.
