I'm looking to buy a new distortion pedal. I want a very nice, botique pedal. I currently run through a BOSS pedal board.
Any recommendations? |

| | | Depends on what kind of distortion you want. For a harsh distortion, I've had good experiences with the EHX Bass Big Muff. I also use my Tech21 SansAmp Bass Driver DI as an overdrive pedal very often. I'm planning on getting a Tech21 SansAmp VT Bass soon, and using that as my OD, while keeping my BDDI as the SVT emulating SansAmp. I wish the VT Bass had an XLR output so I can use the VT Bass as the amp, and using the BDDI as my overdrive pedal. I wouldn't even need a separate amp then, and just go through the PA every time instead.
They might not be considered "boutique", but I highly recommend all three of those pedals. |

I recommend the former because it is awesome, and the latter because it is ridiculously expensive, and someday, someone on this forum is going to have to buy one.

Give us some details on what you want. Tell us what your price range is (one man's boutique is another man's BOSS). Tell us what kind of music you play, what your rig is, whose tone inspires you... Tell us anything. Saying you want something "very nice" isn't helping us at all. |

Remember the EHX Bass Big Muff IS a darn good one too- especially w/ the Bottom setting of the 3 way toggle switch. This setting blends yr dry bass signal with the effected signal. + it's got reg. Big Muff setting in mid. pos.
+ a bass boost(IIRC) setting in top pos- helps keep a lotta ass end in there in higher tone/gain settings.
I got a SA BDD! & a BBM & love 'em both
