DIY dirt pedal.

Sign in to disble this ad
My current (and only) dirt pedal is the EHX BBM.

Im looking to try something different and thought doing a kit would be cool. Looking to keep it relatively cheap as it is my first build. Wouldn't mind trying an overdrive.

Leave some recommendations to pedals that you've built or like the originals and have seen a clone.

PS. I'm not one of those guys that is against cloning in production pedals. I fully understand why people would be but I'm not to concerned.

any specific kits that you recommend for a beginner? I have a soldering iron.

BYOC is an awesome way to go! I built the lazy sprocket, ping-pong delay and the 250+ and it was very fun. I've heard good things about the beaver pedal but that's a muff clone but sounds considerably different than the BBM.

Www.generalguitargadgets.com is my preferred DIY company. I still use their schematics/layouts as reference!

Yeah, I like GGG too. Good references and good service so I support them if I ever buy a kit.

I'd recomend a DOD 250 and maybe play with it a bit to get it exactly the way you like, but stock isn't bad.
