DL4 Problem

I bought this a few weeks ago, but only just got around to trying it.

I get a loud clicking sound at the end of the loop, or when I press the end button.

Is it just me with the settings wrong ?.

Or should I take it back to the shop ?.

There's a small click on mine, but it's near inaudible...Definitely not when I end the loop though...

You might have gotten a dud...

Just so you know there are 2 version of this pedal, infact the entire line of Modelers. There is the old one and the new one with the block logo. The old ones are VERY VERY unreliable, the new ones i will swear by.

Heres a comparison picture.

This is the old one...

This is the new one...

Mmm, mine looks like the first one, it's brand new though.

There's a very audible click as the loops ends, ie when I pressed button A, and a louder click when I press the end button.

My take on this is that if you use 'B' to stop the recording it produces a discontinuity in the sound wave, creating a click.

I have this same pedal and always hit the record button 'A' to end the loop. By doing this it will record over the transition between the end of the loop and beginning of the loop. It sounds more pleasing as sounds will end properly AND it eliminates the audible click that I get if I use 'B' to end the loop.

Another thing that can produce a click is if you hit 'A' to start recording WHILE you are playing a note. This will produce a discontinuity in the beginning of the sound wave being recorded.

Try recording silence (mute your strings) and see if you get the same click. If you do get a click, your pedal might be bunk. If you don't get a click, well, you will just have to practice with it so you aren't creating those "abnormal" sound events that are created when you either start or stop recording while creating a sound.
