DnB & Dubstep?

Sign in to disble this ad
Me and some friends are planning to start a live Drum and Bass band.
A bit like Pendulum (Click) and the Qemists (Click)
I know Pendulum uses alot of midi to trigger their sounds, but I was wondering if there's a cheaper/easier way of getting these sounds?

And with Dubstep sound, i mean something like this: Click

All help is welcome!

This has recently been explained at length in a long thread about these types of sounds; If you do a search on 'dubstep' or 'wobble,' you'll find a wealth of information and a few soundclips in the dubstep 'wobble' thread.

Thanks for posting that Qemists link, I hadn't heard of them before and am always interested in seeing what live electronic acts there are out there.

Check out molehill by spor or diplodocus by noisia for some ridiculous sounds. Modern DnB has some of the evilest sounding bass I've heard anywhere. If youre looking for live bass player stuff check out bond with miloopa. Mind blowing.

EOTO, Jason and Travis from String Cheese Incident. I opened for these guys a couple of times.

Peace,
Joe
