do the EHX octave multiplexer and bass micro synth share the same circuits?

i'm finding my bass micro synth may be too large and full of options i don't use on the board i gig with the most. the sub octave in the pedal seems too muddy and difficult to adjust live along with the guitar slider.

i'm looking at the EHX octave multiplexer and imagine i'll have more ease of use compared to the BMS for a quick octave down. i have my BMS as the first pedal in my chain and still find the sub octave /guitar/trigger sliders to be irritating to get a thick tidy sound.

EDIT: the better question to ask is, are these pedals vastly different in their octave down capabilities?

I don't know if they share a part of their circuit but they sound completely different. The OM offers a lot more control on the octave sound.

definitely leaning more towards the OM for that reason. i wish i hadn't exposed myself to the BMS - now i can't quite get rid of it but am thinking i need extra space on my board for the OM. unless i can find a good simple octave down setting on the BMS.

you won't find a good one but you can find some easy ones.

Use the MicroPog for clean octave down and great tracking, I have both the OM and MPog, and they are both good at what they do but quite different creatures.
