Do you ever use delays?

I'm curious as to when you use delays. For me, the only time I use delays is when I play "One of These Days."

I'll use it for kinda an ominous buildup, but really, delay doesn't strike me as something anyone would use all the time.

I only ever play with Delay at home. Considering buying an Akai Headrush too.

One time at band camp...
Delay sounds great but I usually only use it if the drummer isnt playing..

And "Sleepless." That's about it.

+1

In a band context, I use it when most of the other instruments are taking a break.

I use it every now and then. I really need to have a proper sit down session focusing on just it and some cool combos I can come up with.

I use delay quite a lot. I use it on 3 of my bands 7 songs. Two of those it's on 100% of the time and the other song is use it about 25% of the time. I also use delay a lot when I jam with friends and it's only two or three people jamming. It helps fill in the sound. I use delay in my band to make my bass sound to have much more sustain than what it really has. I turn in the feedback knob set to 1 or two repeats and the mix knob level to my signal. It works quite well and makes my bass sound very big.

i only use it a little. i like that the Malekko 616 doesn't have tails. it makes a build up/overrun part cut clean into a less messy part.

good, fun stuff.

but yeah, i only use it when i have a bit of space in a song.

I like the sound slap-back delay and dirt together produce.

I use delay when I want to create an environment sound.like a bass reverb for the beginning part of the songs.sometimes it sound to me like a ghost movie scene, hahah,i like that but occasionally.

Not so much with my current band, but typically I use it a lot. I've got a Boss DD-6 on my board right now and I occasionally use reverse delay with synthy/sub-bass lines and warp mode (ramps the feedback when you hold the switch) for builds.

I use it a lot in Bongripper, generally at least once a song.

Castevet I used it on like 4 tracks on summer fences...and I was going to use it on Echo and the Light but I condensed my board down and I didn't miss it too much so it stayed off.

But yeah, delay and fuzz are my favorite effects.

Its so hard for me to tap tempo halfway thru a song and get it right in one take....

Its more practical for me to use it in a solo situation

i use it all the time. my M9 is set with three reverbs and three delays. i like using the three delays together and playing long notes to create what i call the seismic wave of bass.
