DOD 250 and EHX Little Big Muff on the way!

I just ordered them off of Musicians Friend. I'm hoping to satify my crunchy lo-gain overdrive and heavy thick fuzz needs (I know opposite ends of the spectrum). I also picked up a 1 spot with 8 adaptors to power them and my bsw. Anyone else have both of these?

I own the DOD 250, and because that's the only overdrive pedal I've ever used, I can't compare it to other OD pedals... IMO, it keeps fairly good the low ends of the signal, as well as the personality of the bass.

I imagine some mods could be easily done to improve the overall tone and the true bypass of the pedal.

Plus, it's pretty cheap.

Nice!
I'm still thinking of getting a LBM. That or an MXR Blowtorch.

Let me know what you think. I am currently vacillating between these two pedals... I actually think the 250 excels at higher-gain stuff so it's in direct competition with the LBM for me.

I will respond back on this thread when I get them, that's interesting, I knew the 250 can go pretty gritty, but I didn't think it could compete with the fuzz of a LBM. But who knows?

You might be surprised. It's definitely harsher but it can certainly get fuzzy around/past 3 o'clock

It loses low end at that point, doesn't it?

I've never owned a DOD 250, but I've owned a pedal based on the same circuit - the MXR Distortion+. Once you crank it, the low end starts to drop. Still, surprisingly good for some mild grit.

The DOD is good for some nice OD, but say goodbye to your low-end. I've heard it's a pretty simple fix, I'm about to try a few mods.

The DOD can't come close to the fuzz of the LBM. Just use both

I just received them today, and everything is amazing! I have both knobs set at noon on the DOD 250 for some mild grit, and all knobs set at noon on the LBM for some heavy, bassy fuzz. I love it! Also, the 1 spot is very nice.

Try using them together, with the DOD first in the signal, for even more nastiness.
