DOD 250 reissue vs YJM308?

Sign in to disble this ad
I want to try using some pedals to fine tune my sound on a tight budget. I've read some rave reviews about the 250. I'm not able to spring for a vintage one right now or a modded one, so I have to make a choice between a 250 reissue or a YJM308.

I've read that the YJM308 is supposed to sound more like the original discontinued 250, but that it isn't quite as good on the low end.

Has anybody had the experience of using both, that might be able to give me some insight on the overall difference in sound between these for bass?

I'm probably going to get a Boss GEB-7 EQ as well. I think that for the money my best bet for versatility is going to be an EQ and one of the pedals mentioned.

Theres about a 45 cents worth of parts difference between the two. The malmsteen one is not that good for bass, but its an easy change. Just get your soldering iron heated up and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to go with the 250. I'm sure I'll break out the soldering iron on it sooner or later anyways. Sometimes I just can't help myself.
