DOD Classic Fuzz Sound Clip

For no particular reason, other than I was fiddling around with my FX52 Classic Fuzz pedal on bass today:

The FX52 is an interesting pedal. It was made in the mid 90s, then was discontinued, and now has a little bit of a cult following among guitar players. It's different from most fuzzes in that its tone control isn't just a simple filter. Instead it seems to fade between two different fuzz circuits -- one fizzy with no low end, the other dark and deep with what seems like an active bass boost.

I'm still trying to find the best settings. The clip is with the drive at about 7 and the tone set down at about 3.

I love them old USA D.O.D pedals.
If I had an excuse, I'd probably buy one of these.

The old DODs are so cheap nowadays, you almost don't need an excuse. By the pound, their market value is somewhere between Chrysler K Cars and used styrofoam peanuts. I think I paid $30 for this one on eBay.

More or less I'm just saying I don't really "need" another pedal, per se....

But I know, they're dirt cheap and sound excellent, so, works for me.
