| I have a pair of fx25b's- one which had the input jack go out, causing loose connection noise whenever there was the slightest movement- the usual snap/crackle/pop you get when touching the tip of a cable that is plugged into a live amp. This doesn't sound like what the OP is experiencing though..
Today I picked up a first gen Fx25 off craigslist for $40. The first things I noticed are: It is dead quiet and there is no volume drop, if anything there is a slight boost when the envelope is closed- It is also much more pronounced in the mids that the fx25b/gfx25(closed env)... so my initial impression is that it won't kick the gfx25 off my board that is used strictly for dub duty, as it doesn't resonate the low freq's as well, though I can see why people would prefer it over the newer ones. I also have a 2nd or 3rd issue of the kermit green fx25's on the way from TheBigO, and I'm interested in hearing what differences there might be. |
