I'm going off-form this evening, to pose a proper question:
Who here has ever had a broken DOD FX- series pedal? My FX-75B, which I bought the day after the Morley PWB, arrived non-functioning, and, seeing as A. it's my favorite flanger, and B. I absolutely refuse to let myself be ripped off on eBay, I would like as much help as you care to give.

I've modded a couple of DOD pedals and own a FX-75b. If it isn't too complicated I might be able to help. |

A) sound awesome
B) break all the time
C) all of the above
...The answer is "C".
The old ones are not very complicated, anybody who can test circuits can probably fix it. Testing can be a PITA though, sometimes. |

It was listed as working, from a reputable seller. Four days later, I receive an envelope, in which the pedal was to be found. I plug a 9v Duracell into it (I know, I should use a Rayovac; they're a Madison, WI, company, and that's the godforsaken city in which I live and work), plug in my cables, bass, amp, and step on the switch. Expecting an unruly sound from a pedal I've yet to adjust, I get the sweet sounds of silence and frustration, the latter of which involves a lot of words that will get me banned. No lights. No sounds. Nothing. I then proceed to try my 1-Spot. Again, nothing. I try a fresh Duracell, and, once more, silence. I've inspected the board, and there doesn't seem to be any scorching (I can recognize that smell), and all components seem to be in good condition.
It does, however, produce a sound when in bypass.

It would have been better if you got the ball rolling within a few days of receiving the pedal, but it's still worth a shot. Since it's a buffered bypass, and you get sound when it bypasses, that means there's nothing wrong with the power connections. But there may be something wrong right at the input of the effect circuit itself, after the switching circuit. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
