I've seen a lot of people using these "sound savers" lately, and they're starting to fetch higher prices too.

So, who's on the bandwagon, and what "revision" of the pedal do you use? I suspect the chronology is that of the pics above, let's call them A, B and C .

Me, I have two; one A and one C!

I think the term preamp is a bit misleading really. The DOD Bi-FET Preamp was designed to boost acoustic instrument (peizo equipped stuffs) up to equal the output of electric instruments. It provides 17dB of boost in case you were wondering.

Its really its own animal tonally. I haven't come across anything that sounds quite like it. The way I have mine setup really adds beef and volume to my signal without getting muddy. The buffer is excellent. No tonal difference in my chain. I used a TB loop to check when I first got it to make sure and there was not a noticeable difference.

Here's mine:

A friend of mine has had model A on top of his SVT head for as long a I can remember, 10 years at least.
It's the only effect he uses, either to get overdrive from his head or easily switch between instruments with unity gain.
The Tone is just perfect to slightly adjust the differences between flat and boosted.
