DOD Stereo Flanger problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Okay, heres what happened, i had my DOD Stereo flanger and my Zvex Fuzz factory together. the fuzz factory was already on, and when i stepped on the flanger, it cliped the crap out of my amp, and now the flanger is only about half as potent. i have to turn all the knobs all the way up just to hear a real difference. none of the settings on the effects pedals, amp, or my bass were out of the ordinary, same settings i usually use, and the amp was only at about 1/4 volume. any ideas on what happened. It's an old cheap flanger anyway, i'll probably just get a new one, but doesn't hurt to try and save it.

Well, I can assure you that clipping the amp had nothing to do with it. My guess is that there was some component in the pedal that was on the edge of going bad already, and when you stepped on it that one time, that's when the part decided to crap out.

Could also just be a bent or dirty jack. Try cleaning all jacks, pots, and switches with a good contact cleaner, and make sure the flexible tabs inside the jacks aren't bent out of shape. Those steps solve a huge percentage of pedal problems.
